Baloch activist Mir Yar Baloch, the president of Free Balochistan Movement, has accused Pakistan’s Army of defaming India to hide its own failures and called it the biggest enemy of Islam and Muslims. He also said that Baloch separatists could liberate Balochistan in a week if they got fighter jets and weapons.
In an exclusive interview with News18 India, Mir Yar Baloch said Pakistan directly targeted nearly forty mosques in Balochistan using artillery and aerial bombardment. He also stressed that had Pakistan not ‘captured’ Balochistan in 1948, it would have ceased to exist or would have chosen to join India.
“The accelerated exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources is helping fund Pakistan’s terror machinery, enabling financial support for jihadist and extremist forces, while simultaneously being used to kill the Baloch people," he said, calling for a UN intervention to halt the armed conflict in Balochistan.

His remarks came after Pakistan’s security forces killed 216 militants during a week-long operation in Balochistan after coordinated attacks at 12 locations across the province. The military said 22 security personnel and 36 civilians were killed in the attacks.
Mir Yar Baloch said if Balochistan acquired a few fighter jets, tanks, and other military capabilities, the Pakistani Army would be forced to surrender to the people of Balochistan within a week. He said many people in the province view Pakistan as an occupying force and accused the international community of prioritising its own strategic interests by accommodating Pakistan.
‘Pakistan Defaming India’
The activist also called for India’s diplomatic, political, and other forms of engagement with Balochistan, saying they both have the capacity and intent to bring about economic transformation, technological advancement, and lasting peace across the region.
He said the people of Balochistan wanted India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a clear foreign policy statement regarding Balochistan, including the opening of a diplomatic mission. “The Baloch nation is fighting the enemy using only stones and sticks. If they receive the necessary defensive weapons, Pakistan would not be able to remain in Balochistan for more than a week," he added.
Mir rejected reports of Baloch militants receiving support from India, accusing the Pakistani Army of defaming India to hide its own failures. “Pakistan does not have the capacity to compete with India in terms of economy, technology, defence, and military strength. Therefore, the easiest way to discredit India is to accuse it of supporting the Balochistan independence movement," he told News18 India.
“We want to make it absolutely clear that we are not receiving any kind of support from New Delhi. However, our leadership has previously made an open request for moral, political, and diplomatic support, and we continue to uphold a policy of mutual cooperation to protect our shared interests in the region," he added.
Balochistan has been plagued by decades of insurgency, political alienation and economic deprivation. Ethnic Baloch militant groups, most notably the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), accuse the Pakistani state of exploiting the province’s gas, minerals and coastline while leaving local communities impoverished and politically marginalised.
