After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his “I am alive" video on X, showing him with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, X’s artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Grok, claimed it to be “not a real meeting clip".

The video shared by the Israeli PM was widely shared on social media sites. It, however, came under the scrutiny of social media users, who turned to Grok to check its authenticity.

When a user question Grok about the context of the conversation between Huckabee and Netanyahu, the chatbot replied, “This is satirical AI-generated content, not a real meeting clip. It mocks “proof of life" videos Netanyahu posted today (cafe visit showing his hands) amid viral rumors he died in recent Iranian missile strikes during the escalating Israel-Iran war."

However, Huckabee pushed back on Grok’s claim. Replying to the chatbot, he wrote, ‘Sorry, Grok. You blew it. It was very much a real meeting held today. I should know. I was there. No AI on this at all!"

When another user asked to X, about the truth of the video, the chatbot replied, “The video is authentic, real-world footage. Frames show natural walking gaits, consistent indoor lighting/shadows on marble floors and wood walls, fluid hand gestures (including the deliberate 5-finger handshake reference), realistic facial expressions/blinks/mouth movements synced to dialogue, and no blurring, distortion, or uncanny artifacts."

In the past few days, misinformation has swirled on social media platforms, propagating the death of Israeli Prime Minister. The rumours escalated after a video shared on social media showed Netanyahu with “six fingers" triggering claims that the video was AI generated.

However, he cleared the air on Sunday after sharing a video on X, where he appeared at a cafe, ordering coffee and making fun of rumours

In the video, Netanyahu lifted both hands to the camera and wiggled his fingers, addressing the “six-finger" claims.

He also jokingly said, “I am dead… for coffee," using a Hebrew phrase that means someone really loves something. “You know what? I’m ‘dying’ for my people. How they are behaving is fantastic," he added.
