Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyer has said “there’s a good chance" that US President Donald Trump could consider granting her a presidential pardon.
Maxwell, disgraced British socialite and long-time associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence. She was convicted in 2021 for helping recruit and traffic underage girls for Epstein, who later died in jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Speaking to Politico, her lawyer David Oscar Markus said he could not give exact odds, but suggested clemency was possible. “I don’t know what the percentages are," he said. “There’s a good chance and for good reason that she would get a pardon."
