A passenger aboard Air Canada Express Flight 8646, which collided with a fire truck while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York, has described the terrifying moments after the impact. Follow LIVE Updates
The pilot and co-pilot of an Air Canada Express flight were killed after their plane, arriving from Montreal, collided with a ground vehicle at New York’s LaGuardia Airport early Monday, triggering an emergency response and temporarily halting flight operations.
According to a post by the Turbine Traveller, the passenger, identified as Brady, said, “I’m okay (physically) but I’m horribly sick to my stomach for the lives lost. Please pray for them." Brady also shared photos of the damaged aircraft.
“I was on this flight and we are still on the tarmac getting checked out. I wanted to share these images in case it’s helpful to anyone who is investigating the crash or needs more information," he said.

According to images, the front of the commuter plane was smashed and was seen tilting in the air.
In the aftermath of the incident, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) imposed a ground stop for all flights at LaGuardia Airport until 0530 GMT, citing an emergency and warning that the restriction could be extended.
In a separate notice to airmen, the FAA said operations at the airport could be impacted until 1800 GMT, without providing further details on the nature of the emergency, according to Reuters.
