The visuals come after what officials described as one of the heaviest waves of Israeli attacks on Lebanon since fighting with Hezbollah escalated last month. Reports said that at least 160 strikes hit over 100 targets in Lebanon in 10 minutes. The strikes were carried out even as a US-Iran ceasefire came into effect.

Israel said it targeted more than 100 Hezbollah command centres, with strikes carried out in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon. The scale of the attacks has raised fresh concerns about a widening conflict in the region, despite the pause in hostilities with Iran.
According to Lebanon’s health ministry, at least 89 people were killed and around 700 were injured in the strikes on Wednesday, Reuters reported. Civil defence authorities later said the toll had risen further to 254, indicating the scale of casualties and destruction.
The United Nations strongly condemned the strikes, with Human Rights Chief Volker Turk describing the scale of killing and destruction as “nothing short of horrific." He said the attacks, coming within hours of the Iran ceasefire, placed “enormous pressure on a fragile peace."

A UN human rights team that visited one of the strike sites in Beirut reported scenes of devastation, including bodies recovered from the rubble. Separate strikes were also reported near a hospital in Al-Aabbassiye and on an ambulance in Qlaileh, raising concerns over civilian infrastructure being hit.
The developments underscore continued volatility in the region, with attacks in Lebanon continuing even as diplomatic efforts focus on sustaining the ceasefire between the US and Iran.
