Amid the ongoing tensions, a Cambodian rocket attack on a Thai gas station killed six people and has wounded several people.

According to Thailand’s army, a Cambodian rocket hit a busy gas station in a Thai village. Visuals of the smoke billowing from the petrol station is going viral on social media. The footage shows firefighters battling to extinguish a blaze at a petrol station in the Sisaket province.

Social media videos showed several wounded people outside a heavily damaged 7/11 store, with smoke in the background. The store’s entrance was destroyed and its windows were shattered, according to the videos. Several people could be seen running to rescue themselves.

The Thai army said the most casualties occurred in Si Sa Ket province, where six people were killed after shots were fired at a gas station. At least 14 people were injured in three border provinces.

Meanwhile, several videos of the violent clashes are being circulated on social media. Civilians are running for cover as clashes erupt on Thailand’s border with Cambodia.

At least nine people have been killed and over a dozen were wounded in Thailand in Cambodian attacks, including an 8-year-old boy, according to the Thai army. Two of the other deaths were in Surin province, while one was in Ubon Ratchathani province.

Both nations have accused each other of starting the military clashes and have downgraded their diplomatic relations since Wednesday. Thailand also sealed all land border crossings with Cambodia.

Relations between the Southeast Asian neighbours have deteriorated sharply since an armed confrontation in May that killed a Cambodian soldier.
