Air travel continued its strong global rebound in 2025, with millions of travellers passing through major aviation hubs across the world. According to the latest data from the Airports Council International (ACI), the world’s busiest airports have once again been ranked based on total passenger traffic, showing which global hubs handled the highest number of flyers this year.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, United States - Total Passengers: 106.3 million
Holding on to its long-time title as the world’s busiest airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson remains the only airport in 2025 to cross the 100 million passenger mark. Located in Georgia, it serves as a major domestic and international transit hub and is known for its massive flight network.

Dubai International Airport, UAE - Total Passengers: 95.2 million
Dubai International continues to dominate as one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world and the busiest in the Middle East. It plays a crucial role in connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa, making it a preferred stopover airport for long-haul international travellers.

Tokyo Haneda Airport, Japan - Total Passengers: 91.7 million
Tokyo Haneda remains one of Asia’s strongest aviation centres. Known for its efficiency and proximity to central Tokyo, the airport handles both heavy domestic traffic and international routes, helping it secure the third spot globally.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, United States - Total Passengers: 85.7 million
One of America’s biggest airline hubs, Dallas Fort Worth serves as a major connecting airport in the southern United States. Its strategic location and extensive domestic network continue to drive huge passenger numbers.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China - Total Passengers: 85 million
Shanghai Pudong has emerged as China’s busiest international airport and remains one of Asia’s most important aviation centres. Its steady growth reflects China’s rapidly expanding travel and tourism market.

O’Hare International Airport, United States - Total Passengers: 84.8 million
Located in Chicago, O’Hare remains one of America’s most important transportation hubs, known for handling massive domestic and international traffic while connecting travellers across North America.

London Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom - Total Passengers: 84.5 million
Heathrow remains Europe’s busiest airport and one of the world’s most recognisable travel hubs. As London’s main international airport, it serves passengers flying across continents daily.

Istanbul Airport, Turkey - Total Passengers: 84.4 million
Since opening in 2018, Istanbul Airport has rapidly climbed the rankings. Its location bridging Europe and Asia has made it one of the most strategically important transit airports globally.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China - Total Passengers: 83.6 million
Another major Chinese aviation hub, Guangzhou Baiyun continues to benefit from rising domestic and regional travel demand, helping China secure two spots in the global top 10.

Denver International Airport, United States - Total Passengers: 82.4 million
Rounding out the list is Denver International, one of the busiest airports in the western United States. Its central location makes it a major domestic connector for coast-to-coast travel.
