US President Donald Trump said the war involving Iran is “largely over," asserting that US military operations dismantled the country’s core defenses and eliminated its immediate nuclear threat.
Trump described the conflict as a swift and decisive military campaign, claiming Iran’s navy was “wiped out almost immediately," followed by its air force and air systems. He said US forces now operate freely over Iranian airspace.
“They have no radar, no anti-aircraft, they have nothing," Trump said, arguing that Iran currently lacks the capability to defend against further strikes.
Trump added that US forces could disable Iran’s critical infrastructure, including electricity systems, within hours. However, he noted that oil facilities have not been targeted due to the long-term consequences of destroying pipeline networks.
The US President also emphasised that military action had neutralized Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Referencing earlier strikes involving B-2 Spirit bombers, he said the operation prevented a potential nuclear conflict.
“If they got a nuclear weapon, I would say they would have used it within 24 hours," Trump said, warning that inaction could have led to a wider war extending beyond the Middle East.
Trump has long identified strategic sites such as Kharg Island as critical targets, arguing that disrupting such infrastructure would significantly weaken Iran’s position.
