Donald Trump On Iran Peace Talks: US President Donald Trump said that Washington is militarily prepared to move against Iran if needed, while also expressing confidence that the standoff could still end with a “great deal."
Speaking to CNBC as the deadline for the temporary ceasefire nears, Trump combined threats of force with optimism about diplomacy in remarks that come just hours before the current ceasefire is expected to expire on Wednesday, with uncertainty still hanging over planned peace talks between the two sides.

‘Militarily Prepared’ But Wants A Deal
Trump said the US is fully prepared for military action against Iran if negotiations collapse, but added that he still believes a settlement is possible.
“It will end with a great deal with Iran," Trump said, according to the interview. The remarks suggest the White House is maintaining maximum pressure on Tehran while keeping the door open to a diplomatic resolution.
Trump Defends Blockade Of Iranian Ports
Trump also said the US blockade of Iranian ports had been successful, arguing it has strengthened Washington’s negotiating leverage. The blockade has become one of the main sticking points in talks. The dispute has added fresh strain to shipping routes and energy markets, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz.

No Desire To Extend Ceasefire
Trump asserted that he does not want to extend the ceasefire beyond its current deadline. The two-week truce had temporarily paused weeks of fighting and opened a narrow diplomatic window. But with both sides accusing each other of violations, prospects for an extension appear weak. If the ceasefire lapses without a deal, the risk of renewed military confrontation could rise sharply.
