United States President Donald Trump declared that regime change in Iran is imminent, urging the Iranian people to rise up against their leadership as joint US-Israeli military operations continue across Iranian territory. “When we are finished, you will have your chance to take over your government — this may be your only opportunity for generations," Trump said in a message to Iranians.
Trump addressed the situation in a statement aired shortly after multiple explosions were reported in Tehran and other Iranian cities, marking a large-scale coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian military and strategic targets. He described the ongoing offensive as the beginning of “major combat operations" aimed at dismantling Iran’s missile and nuclear capabilities.
In the statement, the US President called on members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Iranian army and police forces to lay down their arms, promising that those who surrender would be treated fairly and offered total immunity.

Trump’s remarks went beyond typical military rhetoric, framing the conflict as not just a strike on strategic targets but a turning point for Iranian society. He told the Iranian public that “freedom is at hand today," and that the overthrow of the current regime could usher in a new era for the country’s future.
The strikes themselves have been wide-ranging, with reports of explosions near Tehran’s central districts, as well as cities including Isfahan, Qom and Karaj, targeting military sites and infrastructure. Iranian state media acknowledged the blasts but provided limited details, while officials in Tehran have vowed retaliation and described the attacks as an act of aggression.
As a result of the hostilities, regional airspaces, including Iran’s and Israel’s, have been closed to civilian flights. Mobile phone networks were disrupted in parts of Iran, and thousands of residents in Tehran were reported to be seeking shelter following the blasts.
